Powerboat Level 1
A one-day introduction to powerboats
We generally recommend that everyone begin their powerboating with a Powerboat Level 2 course. However, for some of our (particularly younger) participants, the Powerboat Level 1, is a great way to get familiar with the boat. Also, with the course only lasting one day, it is a shorter introduction to the basics of the sport.
The course aims to teach basic seamanship and crewing skills, as well as some core competencies required of a helm. However, after the course, you generally aren’t viewed as fully competent to skipper your own boat, and won’t be eligible for the International Certificate of Competence.
